Photograph Publication Arrives Before DOJ Due Date
The body has many thousands of photographs in its holdings from the Epstein estate, which are "simultaneously graphic and mundane," its announcement on recently explained.
The House Oversight Committee first issued a subpoena to the property of Epstein, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on charges of sex trafficking crimes, in August.
The images and records the Epstein estate submitted to the body are separate from what is commonly referred to "the Epstein documents". That material are documents under the justice department's custody associated with its independent investigation into Epstein.
Pursuant to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which the President signed into law recently, the DOJ has a deadline of 19 December to disclose its records. The extent of what's contained in the DOJ's documents is not publicly known, and it's expected that a significant portion of the material will be significantly obscured, similar to House Oversight Committee materials
